Portret Aragorn | Lord of the Rings serieportret of Aragorn painted in 2014 in acrylics on canvas by Andrew Zeegers in the Lord of the Rings series. The portrait is loosely painted in an impressionistic manner. It is finished with a wooden frame and a suspension mechanism. The painting is signed in the right-bottom cormer. Why Lord of the Rings? This is purely personal but also very convenient. In earlier times, many artists took their themes from Greek Mythologies and from Biblical themes. Only later came the genre art with still life, interiors, landscapes, etc. were painted. In fact The Lord of the Rings does exactly that, it provides a modern source of imagery and themes just like mythologies and biblical themes. Artists of former days knew a lot of the classical themes it was absolutely necessary that you knew your classics as a source of information to paint from. Well ... now I make good use of a fairly rich source of images and themes of The Lord of the Rings. Find more portraits in our gallery. Please visit our Museumshop Marandrew.
